With a unique and proprietary cultivation process, Michigan-based Rair is able to consistently produce extremely high-quality products that prove not all cannabis is made equal. As a vertically-integrated brand, Rair boasts an extensive private label product line featuring everything from top-shelf flower to oil-based concentrates and edibles, sold exclusively in their state-of-the-art provisioning centers.
Rair takes immense pride in the development of their cannabis products, using cutting-edge automation to carefully mix and administer their grow recipes. So when it came time to create their product packaging, they knew they wanted a design that would reflect the precision and expertise of their cultivation process.
High Road was enlisted to develop a design architecture that would seamlessly integrate with their suite of products and help to enhance the customer experience with intuitive and insightful cannabis education. By implementing a color scheme derived from the Rair brand gradient, High Road established an easy-to-understand product classification system based on the diverse range of terpene profiles. On one end of the spectrum, the bright red packaging indicates high energy products with Limonene and Caryophyllene-dominant tendencies. Meanwhile on the opposite end, the deep blue packaging denotes Myrcene-dominant products that deliver higher levels of calm and relaxation. As an added layer of education, each label is also outfitted with a graphic gauge that indicates the concentration of the top three terpenes along with their corresponding effects.
The success of this packaging design is immediately recognizable as part of the dispensary's in-store visual merchandising. It has been implemented not only as a visually striking color-blocking system, but also a useful tool for employees as retail-integrated customer education.
